This one started from bare ground. The restaurant had an outdoor seating structure in place, but the surrounding landscape was completely unfinished - just rough soil and nothing to look at. Not exactly the first impression a restaurant wants to make on its guests.
We came in and built the whole thing from scratch. Fresh soil prep, a clean river rock border along the base of the structure, and a row of columnar arborvitae planted along the full length of the building. Those trees weren't just for looks either. They were specifically chosen and positioned to help buffer road noise - so guests actually enjoy sitting outside instead of shouting over traffic.
The combination of the deep mulch bed running the length of the wall and the natural stone groundcover gives the space a finished, intentional feel. It pulls together the warm wood tones of the structure and gives the whole area a sense of polish that wasn't there before. Details like that matter in a commercial setting, especially when first impressions drive repeat business.
Commercial landscaping for restaurants is a different animal than a typical residential job. You're thinking about the guest experience, not just the curb appeal. Noise reduction, visual softening, and low-maintenance plant choices all have to work together. That's exactly the kind of thinking we bring to every commercial install we take on.
The space still has room to grow as the plantings fill in, but even at this stage the difference is significant. Clean lines, intentional plantings, and a layout that actually serves the function of the space - that's what a good landscape buildout looks like.
