Andrew grew up in Bloomington and went through Bloomington Public Schools. Now that AJS Outdoor Services is established here, a piece of every season goes back into the neighborhoods we work in.

We gave away five family season passes to the Bloomington City Pool, open to residents and non-residents. The response was big enough that we added two more passes as a surprise bonus and drew two extra winners.

Free coffee, any size, from 9AM to 11AM at West Side Perk in Country Side Center. Same weekend as the ice cream event and the same entry: like, follow and share the page for a ticket.

We bought lunch for the officers at the Bloomington Police Department as a thank you for the work they do here. The department wrote back that they appreciated it. We love supporting local officers and wanted to do something to show it.

Leave the tree at the curb after the holidays and we hauled it off and recycled it, free, across Bloomington and the surrounding area. It keeps trees out of the alley through February and keeps the neighborhood looking right.

Free pumpkins off the trailer at 9900 Lyndale Ave S. Kids picked a pumpkin to take home, climbed around the trucks and equipment, and left with candy. No purchase, no catch.

It is coffee on a Saturday morning, a scoop of ice cream after school, a pumpkin off the trailer, a tree hauled off the curb in January. Small things, run out of pocket, for the people who live on the same streets we work on.
We post every one of these on Facebook first, so following the page is the easiest way to catch the next one before it fills up.
Teachers spend their own money on their classrooms every year. This giveaway takes a piece of that off their plate.
Now that AJS Outdoor Services has grown, we feel incredibly grateful to have the opportunity to give back to the community that gave so much to us. This year we wanted to support the teachers who spend countless hours investing in our kids.
The giveaway was open to every elementary school in Bloomington Public Schools, and neighbors nominated their teachers in the comments.
We bought out a Saturday afternoon at Scoops and handed out free scoops from 3PM to 5PM. Anyone who liked, followed and shared the page got a ticket. The shop was packed to the counter the whole time.
Thank you to Scoops Ice Cream and More for hosting a couple hundred neighbors on short notice.

A January giveaway run with Rise Up Nutrition in Bloomington. Free shakes for neighbors, and a hand to another local shop in the slowest month of the year.
We completed the landscape for Perk Up Kitchen's new addition in May, and in August we shared Bloomington Junk Pros' free junk removal day and pushed neighbors toward it.
When another local outfit does something good here, the least we can do is send people their way.
